What is a Research and Development Internship at Sound Cybernetics?

Gaining work experience and guidance is a fundamental step in starting a career in the tech industry. That’s why we’ve created the Research and Development Internship.

Gain work experience. Over 3 months and about 4-8 hours per week, you’ll work remotely in exchange for work experience and mentorship.

Get real-world experience. Every intern gets hands-on experience to work with all aspects of the company, including software development, technical frameworks, and public relations.

Jumpstart your career. Once completed, add our organization to your resume and use Sound Cybernetics as a professional reference on your resume. In addition, we will be able to sign any paperwork and offer a certification of completion.

Make the most out of your internship

Your 3-month internship is your time to gain work experience and learn about software development. Here are some tips to maximize your internship:

1. Ask for help

This is an obvious one. Don’t be scared to ask for explanations or advice to complete your tasks.

2. Do your own research

When you have free time, do some research about the tech world. There are some things that you can learn on your own. The nice thing is, if you find something that confuses you during your research, you can ask us about it.

3. Manage your time wisely

While you can take on multiple internships at the same time, you have to make sure you can handle the workload.

Don’t forget to allot time for rest either! We want your internship to lead to positive learning experiences and not contribute to your stressors.

4. Make a list of key takeaways every week or month

Make a list of what you’ve learned and things that you might use in the future.

5. Make a list of more things you want to learn every week or month

Make a list of the things you still want to learn and when you want to learn them.

6. Unpaid Internship

Please note that this is an unpaid internship. Monetary compensation is not guaranteed; however, our model is to create a profit sharing company.

What can I expect from an apprenticeship?

Research and Development Interns are part of a tech studio with various responsibilities, including technical and creative work.

Within the role, there are three distinct responsibilities:

  1. Software development, coding, technical tasks
  2. Content creation, writing, outreach
  3. Marketing, online research, social media management

Duties may include software development, social media and marketing, outreach, website updates, creating creative content, and more.

  1. Onboarding: Let’s schedule an onboarding meeting in which we can discuss the schedule, communication protocols, and develop a 3-month roadmap for your internship.

  2. Weekly Meetings: We will schedule weekly meetings to keep on track with various projects, with a goal in mind for each week.

  3. Fully Remote: Sound Cybernetics is an online platform accessible from anywhere, and our team collaborates virtually.
